We all know how annoying and inconvenient a punctured tyre can be, not to mention the impact this can have on your safety whilst driving.
That's why Crown Garage offer a puncture repair or tyre replacement service!
If you have a puncture, whether it's fast or slow, or you are in need of a new tyre, we have the tools to get you safely on the road again. We only deal with mid-range or branded tyres, to ensure maximum safety of your vehicles, and our puncture repair kits are built to last and withstand your every day driving needs, albeit short or long distance driving.

If you have a punctured tyre, pop in to Crown Garage for a repair!
We have a seating area where you can sit and wait, or alternatively, you can drop your car off and pick it up once the repair is all done.
A repair can only be safely completed if the damage meets strict limits regarding location, size, and the condition of the tyre.
The 3 Core Puncture Limits
When a Tyre Cannot Be Repaired
Beyond the specific puncture criteria, a garage will refuse a repair and require a replacement if:

You should change your tyres when the tread depth drops below the legal limit 1.6mm, when they show signs of cracking or damage, or if they reach 5–6 years of age. Tyres should always be replaced in pairs on the same axle to maintain safe handling and grip.
Key Warning Signs to Replace Tyres
How to Check Your Tread Depth at Home
Illegal tyres will automatically result in a failed MOT (Ministry of Transport) test. You will not be allowed to legally drive the vehicle on public roads until the issue is rectified and a passing test is completed.
Per-Tyre Penalties: Fines and points are applied individually to each illegal tyre on your vehicle. If all four tyres are deemed illegal, a court can impose a maximum fine of up to £10,000 and issue 12 penalty points, leading to an instant driving ban.
Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN): For less severe, first-time offences, police may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice resulting in an automatic fine and points.
If your tyres are severely worn, bulging, or have exposed cords, the police can issue a Prohibition Notice. This prevents you from driving the vehicle until the tyres are professionally replaced and proof is provided.
In extreme cases, police have the authority to impound the vehicle or initiate formal court proceedings, which risks a disqualification from driving altogether.
Driving a car with dangerous or defective tyres means you are operating an unroadworthy vehicle, which is an imprisonable offence in severe circumstances. Both the driver and the registered vehicle owner can receive a court summons if the vehicle fails to meet safety standards.
Accidents and Claims: If your illegal or defective tyres contribute to a road accident, your car insurance policy is likely to be invalidated. This means your insurance provider can refuse to pay out for any damage to your vehicle, third-party vehicles, or personal injuries.
